“Well, I’m pretty sure that the first single that I ever bought was ‘Yakety Yak’ by the Coasters. Did you realize that was a protest song? Remember that song? It was about taking out the garbage and not wanting to. And warning not to go out with your hoodlum friends. It was a protest song.

“But the first album? It was probably Bach’s harpsicord concerti. It wasn’t anything that had a direct impact on the music that I went on to play, but today, I do still listen to that music all the time.”
