“I wish I could remember exactly if this is a fact or not, but -- and this is so sad -- I think that the first record I ever bought was ‘They’re Coming to Take Me Away, Ha Ha’ by Napolean XIV.

“That was back when I would buy singles. I went down to the store with my 99 cents or whatever it cost to buy a single, and I said, ‘Hmm, let’s see, what do I want to buy?’

“Of course, back at home I always had all the records that my mom and dad had and my brother and sister, too, but I think the first 99 cents that I plunked down for music was for that single. So at some point you can strap me up in a wrap-around sports-coat and lead me somewhere where it’s padded.”
