singer with rock group Aerosmith
“Oh, yeah. I sure do. It was an album by the Pretty Things. It was their first or second album.
“But I also went through my sister’s albums. There was ‘Hold That Tiger’ by Fabian and stuff like that. I mean, come on. It was all that stuff that sisters would listen to. I wanted to hear the doo-wop, the making-out-for-hours, sucking-face songs. ‘House of the Rising Sun’ by the Animals...the greatest song I ever heard.
“And the first single that I bought was ‘The Battle of New Orleans’ by Johnny Horton. ‘In 1814, we took a little trip, along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip.’ And the B-side was a song called ‘All For the Love of a Girl.’
“And the Everly Brothers -- I was strung out on them for six years.”
