“But on the jazz tip, I think that the first records that I bought were Duke Ellington’s ‘Seventieth Birthday Concert,’ ‘The Billie Holiday Story, Volume III’ (which is a Columbia re-issue), ‘Basie Jam III’ on the Pablo label and Eddie Harris’ ‘Playing With Myself.’”
