“I don’t remember the first one that I bought, but I do remember the first album that I ever owned. The very first one that was given to me as a gift was ‘Rock Around the Clock’ by Bill Haley. That was actually the first album that I ever had. The album wasn’t given to me at the time the album was released; it was some years later maybe in ‘57 or ‘58.

“I don’t have that album anymore, unfortuantely. It wouldn’t have lasted in our household. I played it a lot, and my brother is eight years younger than me, so he was a baby coming up. And things just don’t last when there are babies in the house.”
