“The first single was ‘The Twist’ by Chubby Checker.

“The first album was probably at Christmas, ’64. I already had a lot of singles, but I asked my folks for the first two Stones albums, which they bought for me. I played them each about five times that night. I was up til about four in the morning. Play the first album, play the second album, play the first album... The blues stuff on those records was like a completely alien experience for me. It was pretty cool. The Stones are my favorites.”
